The olympic weightlifting schedule consists of 3 periods.

GENERAL PREP (week 1-4)

General Physical Preparedness (GPP) phase, based on accessory exercises that strengthen and prepare the body for the phases ahead.

SPECIAL PREP (week 5-8)

Preparation, aimed at building a base for a new result, through challenging work in complex and intensive exercises.

PRE-COMPETITION (week 9-12)

By reducing the accessory and strength load, the athlete gains power and lightness for the Snatch, C&J.

I really enjoy the program, I wish that there was a excel version that I could put in the % to be able to keep track of the workouts without having to write them down into a book

Considero excelente este programa para levantadores de pesas intermedios y avanzados. Los ejercicios son retadores y escalados para conseguir objetivos semanales. Las cargas de peso son progresivas cada semana y con el fin de alcanzar o superar tu RM en snatch y clean & jerk. Una programación fácil de leer y entender; además, incluye videos tutoriales para ejecutar cada ejercicio o movimiento. En mi experiencia, logré rebasar mis porcentajes máximos en arranque olímpico y envión. I'm enjoying a lot the program. So far, I see that there are many exercises that develop the position in the pull, so the contact in both the snatch and clean is produced correctly. This is something that I have always wanted to focus on and I'm happy that the program includes it.

FAQ

Do I need a new Male 2.0 program if I trained according to the Male 1.0 program?

The answer is yes, 100%! Weightlifting Program 2.0 is a completely new program. This training program is unique, fun, and add a different stimulus each week. We are implementing hypertrophy, power, and absolute strength to keep you healthy while building strength, athleticism and improving your lifts.

How frequently should I train?

This program is designed to be 5 days per week. We do not recommend training 4 days in a row. On your rest days, try to plan recovery activities, such as massages, or sauna.

Can I combine it with other types of training?

We do not recommend combining this program with other high-intensity workouts. You can add, at your discretion, recovery activities to develop flexibility and mobility, as well as short (up to 30 minutes) low-intensity cardio work (walking, rowing, swimming). Be sure to plan one full day off in each weekly cycle. The program's effectiveness largely depends on your responsibility when it comes to the training process, sleep, nutrition, and recovery. Train smart, get enough rest.

Is it necessary to train in weightlifting shoes?

We highly recommend you wear weightlifting shoes, also known as Lifters. Whether you’re a functional fitness athlete or a weightlifter, you will find them beneficial.

What equipment do I need for the program?

Is MALE 1.0 a prerequisite for MALE 2.0?

No, MALE 2.0 is not a continuation or an add-on to MALE 1.0. They BOTH are standalone programs, but MALE 2.0 has been enhanced with new features and improvements.

I’ve already completed MALE 1.0. Should I take MALE 2.0 as well?

Definitely worth taking! MALE 2.0 has some cool new features and improvements.

Can women do this program?

No, but for ladies we offer our weightlifitng competition training program.

Great Program for CrossFit Athletes Focused on Strength Development

I recently started Weightlifting for Functional Fitness 2.0 and am currently in week 3, and so far it’s been excellent. Here’s what I like:
• Smart integration with CrossFit – The program blends well with CrossFit-style training and focuses on building strength without sacrificing conditioning or skill work.
• Structured and easy to follow – The layout is clear and straightforward, which makes it easy to stay consistent.
• Mobility and warm-ups included – Each session starts with warm-up and mobility work, which is often overlooked in other programs.
• Time-efficient – Sessions are compact and can usually be completed in about 1 to 1.5 hours, even when combined with a WOD or gymnastics work.

Even though I’m only in the early stages, the structure and progression already feel solid. Looking forward to seeing the results as I continue!

There are a lot of variations of snatch, some are familiar some are not. Different weight percentages helps me to being aware of technical issues and fix them.

Best investment ever

The program is absolutely fantastic for anyone who wants to improve their lifting in a structured way while learning how to incorporate the gymnastics and metcon aspects into the trainning. I am on week 3 and gaining so much more confidence particularly in the snatch positions with each session. I really appreciate the warm-ups and mobility drills that always take care of the nagging little tight spots/help feel the body ready to lift. My only regret is that I have not started sooner!

Excellent ADD-ON Program

I've been truly enjoying myself with this program. It's only been two weeks, but it allows me to complement my regular CrossFit training very well. The exercises feel varied, well-picked and aim to better technique as well as strength.

Great program

The program is designed for 5 training sessions per week, but I do 4 due to work — I skip the third session each week. I really like the balance between intensity and volume. The wave-loading sessions are very effective. I’m currently halfway through the program, so I don’t know yet if there will be new PRs, but I already feel more confident at higher percentages and a fast improvement in form.

Excellent direction

I already had great mobility, but this really helped complete my stretching routines. I noticed mobility increases after just 8 workouts. I haven't finished the program and I've already experienced mobility gains.

Excellent for CrossFit WEIGHTLIFTING

I'm new at CrossFit and Weightlifting. This program is excellent for starters and others to learn techniques from videos (but also it is important to have weightlifting trainer to fix technique issues) and start to learn new movements/excercises and how split weight loads. I'm right now at 3week, but I like it! :)
